Curator and Filmmaker’s Statement:

A Thousand Roads reflects my personal vision and sensibilities more than any other film

Smithsonian’s NMAI next to the Capitol. I was fortunate to have the resources to

Curator and Filmmaker’s statement:

Abe was truly one-of-a-kind. He was the featured character in my first film about
Spain and became a lifelong friend and mentor. So when he turned 80, I started
capturing his stories and also those who knew and loved him, including: Ed
Asner, Harry Belafonte and Richard Dreyfuss among many others. This film was
my way of thanking Abe for the resounding difference he made in my life and in
this world.
