FairyTale:  A True Story

In keeping with the Holidays, we are screening one of the most enchanting films ever made about the magical innocence of childhood – and how it enlivens our spirit into adulthood.   With brilliant performances by Peter O’Toole as author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Harvey Keitel as Harry Houdini. This is a rare gem of a film and a gift for the holidays.

Synopsis: Based on a true story, two children living in the bucolic countryside of Yorkshire in 1917 take photographs, believed by some to be the first scientific evidence of the existence of fairies.   When their story reaches Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (Peter O’Toole)– the writer/creator of Sherlock Holmes, he journeys to investigate the girls’ discovery, together with his skeptical friend, Harry Houdini (Harvey Keitel).   And what is revealed is truly magical.

Hot Mulled Wine will be provided by HCC for this special Holiday occasion, available at $5 / glass.
