07.12.19 | A New Coravin

When I started my job nearly a year ago as City Club’s Front of the House Manager, my mission was to improve the quality of the wines served at Happy Hour, hoping once that task was accomplished, I’d have a chance to build a first class cellar all City Club members could be proud of. At the risk of sounding proud, I believe both goals have been accomplished, and that we now have us a wine cellar that is aesthetically beautiful and is full of delicious wines.

To celebrate our success, starting this week we will adopt a different pricing structure to serve wines by the glass, so that instead of charging a flat fee of $8 across the board, each wine will be priced based on the quality of wine. This pricing policy will also apply to spirits. In addition, we now have a Coravin that allows me to pour from a bottle without opening it; a very cool gadget that makes more expensive wines available by the glass.

I encourage you to look through the wine list and instead of buying by the glass, consider buying a bottle to share with friends. I can help guide you through the wine list and suggest a bottle you may not normally consider; and if you can't finish it, we can always cork it for you to take it home.
