Wow….. talking about a power couple! 

John Maggio stopped to see a friend in Boulder 25 years ago and, as luck would have it, the natural products industry was really just kicking off. He is probably best known for founding his first brand, Boulder Natural Foods, and the internationally distributed brand now known as Boulder Canyon (aka. Boulder Potato Chips). He facilitated the sale of Boulder Chips to a publicly traded snack food company which has since been purchased by Utz Quality Foods in November 2017.

John’s current project is called Cocktail Squad, with their offices located at City Club, where John gets to work with his beautiful wife and Co-Founder Lauren on this new venture. Cocktail Squad is a line of “craft” canned cocktails the two launched in the Fall of 2018. Merchandised in 4-pack cans, Cocktail Squad entered a fast-growing category in the market at the intersection of portability and convenience, and offers consumers a sophisticated swift-consumption (ha!) of an alcoholic beverage alternative with four classic cocktails, and soon to be six www.cocktailsquad.com.
 
John is a Strategy Consultant to several high-growth companies, including Empact Bars, Chef Soraya, Stinkin’ Good, Pop Art Popcorn, and has been a long-time Board Member to Justin’s Nut Butters and Confections. He is a Board Member of Thanasi Foods, a thought leader in the Convenience Store Channel in both Sunflower Seeds and Meat Snacks, and was backed by a private equity firm Encore Consumer Capital which exited to Conagra Brands in March 2017. 

John and Lauren love to spend time with their four fast-growing children, and make a point to see a ridiculous amount of live music, and they put in as many days as possible during the winter to ski, hike, bike and playing golf all year around. After months of training last fall, John and Lauren hiked across the Grand Canyon (aka Rim to Rim) in one day. Look for them running around City Club doing biz!
